I think that's perfectly legitimate from a utilitarian/realpolitik point of view. It's certainly not an unwavering commitment to ideals.

And he held off Iran with those weapons. Perhaps we escaped with the lesser
of two evils there. We will never know for sure.

It is a great moment.

It's just too bad we were selling weapons to Saddam Hussein at the same time. Let's not whitewash the greatness... or the tragedy.

Well, it's a pretty damn cushy job, after all.

Heard young Duncan Hunter (not the Dad) on the radio this morning. Only Congresscritter to have served in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Impressive individual.
